As a desiccant in pressure swing adsorption (PSA) nitrogen production devices, carbon molecular sieves (CMS) separate nitrogen and oxygen in the air to purify and enrich nitrogen at room temperature and pressure.
CMS will adsorb particles less than 10Å when ordinary activated carbon can’t. it features a high relative adsorption strength that is higher than a spherical graphitized polymer carbon (SGPC) and graphitized carbon black (GCB).
Economically, the use of a CMS for high compression nitrogen technology has a lower cost and faster nitrogen generation than traditional deep cooling processes. Nitrogen separated by CMS has been widely used in the following industries:
Inert storage tanks
Pipelines and tankers
Processing and storing perishable foods and beverages
Heat treatment of metals
Processing plastic and fibers
Microchip production
